Hi there :) My name is Sydni, most people call me Syd, either one is fine. Welcome to my little space on the internet, I’m so glad you’re here and curious to learn more about me and my work.

Where I’m from/Where I am now:

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky and was raised and have lived most of my life on the west coast of central Florida, near Madeira Beach. I’m currently living somewhat of a nomadic lifestyle, but it’s likely you can find me in either Florida, North Carolina or Tennessee these days. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to realize how necessary it is for me to live a life closely entwined with the Earth and the elements. As much as I love St. Petersburg, FL, my being yearns for cleaner air, water, and more space to breathe and create in order to thrive. I often tell my niece that my favorite places are where there are waaaay more trees than people.

Family:

Speaking of family, I am the middle child from a family of 5 with an older sister and younger brother. My father is a fire chief and my mother was a nurse at a children’s hospital. The family I’ve created as an adult consists of my partner of 7 years, Shane, and our 3 dogs, Zoey, Tarzan, and Solstice. I’m also an Auntie to two little ones and plan to have children of my own someday soon.

In the fall of 2018, my mother died by suicide. Her death was completely unexpected and was a huge turning point for me in my life. I have learned a lot through my process of grief and through building a new relationship with my mom’s spirit, on a soul level. My mother’s death and my hindsight realization of how greatly she suffered while she was alive informs much of the work I do today.

In no way do I advocate for suicide as a solution to suffering, but I do want to honor my mother and the ripple effect that her choice has had and will have on our lineage. Because my mom was so under supported and under resourced that she felt the best solution available to her was to take her own life, I have dedicated my life to not only supporting women and mothers to create health and wellness in their lives, but I have also learned and committed to continue to learn about the ways in which I need support and can be resourced enough to create health and wellness in my life.

I consciously choose to live my life to the fullest and to be present for everything life has to offer and teach me. The “good” and the “bad.” I honor my mother’s life, and the lives of those who came before and those that will come after me, by remembering that life is sacred and by living it. What a beautiful gift, thank you mom.

Education:

I love learning and you can find a list of my “formal” education and certifications below. Structured learning certainly has its advantages, but I find I learn the most just through living life to the fullest extent possible and being a highly observant creature. Some of my greatest teachers are the elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind), plants, intuition, my personal relationships, and listening to others’ stories.

My work:

I am a Birthkeeper and an Earthkeeper, which to me means someone who protects and preserves the natural and original design of both Birth and the Earth for current and future generations to experience in all their glory. You can learn more about my work in the birth realm through starting a conversation with me. I currently offer in-person prenatal connection sessions, birth witnessing, and postpartum care. My online offerings include prenatal connection sessions, postpartum preparation/planning, and my herbal offerings available in my plant medicine shop.

The past few years my work has solely focused on supporting women and their wellness because I believe that women and mothers are at the center of all of our lives, and that the health of our mothers is equivalent to the health of our families, which ripples out to our communities and the greater world. While I still hold that truth, I also see how much we all need support and healing in these times. And so I’ve expanded my offerings to include grief counseling and holistic health sessions for both men and women.

I am in no way a medical professional, nor do I aspire to be. My approach towards health and wellness is truly holistic, meaning we must address all levels of health; body, mind, and spirit, not just one or the other in order to change our lives. I believe that being radically honest with ourselves and taking responsibility over our lives and the power we have to create whatever it is we want is essential to living a healthy and fulfilling life.

My guidance is rooted in meditation, contemplation, nourishment (on all levels), movement, and intuition (deep listening). If you want to work with me, be ready to dive deep into your emotional and spiritual realms. If just reading that sounds scary or uncomfortable to you, that is likely a sign that you have some work to do in these areas (don’t we all!). If you are looking for a quick fix or someone to tell you what to do or what to take, I am not the support person you are looking for. I am not here to heal you, you are here to heal yourself, and I am here to lovingly guide and support you along the way.

I am fascinated by transformation and by what human beings are capable of once we realize the power that we hold. I believe that anything is possible and if we continuously choose to do so, we can create the life of our dreams.

If you are interested in working with me, you can send me a brief email introducing yourself and what it is you would like to work on together. Sydni@sacred-reclamation.com
