Hi, I’m Sydni, Mother of Sacred Reclamation and The Postpartum Fairy!

I am a daughter, sister, auntie and very much look forward to being a mother and grandmother in the future. I am a postpartum care giver, folk herbalist, medicine maker, storyteller, birthkeeper, earthkeeper, and many other things!

I am passionate about caring for women, mothers, and families and I believe that the root of all problems in the world could be healed by healing the connection between women and their bodies and mothers and their babies. Jeannine Parvati Baker once said “Peace on Earth begins with birth” and I wholeheartedly agree, although I would edit to add, “and continues in postpartum.”

My birth work centers home birth and birth outside of the medical system — but postpartum care calls me toward all women, no matter how or where you birthed.

Eight years ago, my mother unexpectedly died. The lessons and gifts I have received and continue to receive through this experience are endless. One that has stuck with me the most is how profoundly undersupported, undervalued, and overlooked mothers are in our modern culture. My mother’s death and my hindsight realization of how greatly she suffered while she was alive informs the way I move and work in the world today.

Mothers are the heartbeat of life itself. The health and wellbeing of our mothers is equivalent to the health and wellbeing of our families, communities, and the greater world. The way we treat mothers says everything about who we are as people.

I am on a mission to reawaken the ancient ways of caring for one another, beginning with the source of all life ~ mothers. When women and mothers are resourced, the entire village thrives.

You can support this work by checking out our offerings at The Postpartum Fairy and in the Plant Medicine Shop, also by listening to The Sacred Reclamation Podcast and sharing with a friend!

Thank you for being here :)

I love learning and you can find a list of my formal education and certifications below. Structured learning certainly has its advantages, but I find I learn the most through living life to the fullest extent possible and being a highly observant creature. Some of my greatest teachers are the elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind), plants, intuition, my personal relationships, and people’s stories.

Formal Education:

BA in Psychology, University of South Florida

Community Prayer

May we never lose another Mother due to lack of support and community.

May we care for Mothers the way they care for us, fiercely and unconditionally.

May we respect the sacredness of Mothers and Mothering because none of us would be anywhere or anyone without our Mothers.

May it be so. And so it is.
